A plain Jane teen vacationing with her family in the early 60’s falls in love with the hot dance instructor at the resort Frances Houseman is the younger of two sisters, with the nickname “Baby,” who is her doctor father’s pet and the one expected to have a bright future. While vacationing in the Catskills at a lush resort, Baby is lured into the underground lifestyle of the resident staff. Getting invited to one of their after hours parties, Baby is captivated by the style of dancing going on and specifically by Johnny Castle, the handsome dance instructor at the resort.
The Torch Theatre’s Sunset Cinema returns this year so bring a blanket, bring a picnic, bring your friends and join us for a magical evening under the stars. Join us for an evening of cinema and wonderful pre-show entertainment.
Gates open at 7.00pm and film starts approximately 9.30pm.

Food, drinks and classic cinema snacks will be available on the night although you’re welcome to bring your own picnics to the event. Seating is not provided, please bring your own seating, blankets and dress warm as the film will be finishing late. Please do not bring tents or gazebo’s as they may obstruct the view of other people.

This is an outdoor event so please check the weather forecast before hand and dress appropriately. If it rains the show will go on. Only in the case of extreme weather, such as dangerously high winds, will the screening be cancelled, we will re-allocate your tickets to another screening.
